How Cook chickpeas

First I was introduced by way of chick peas when salad bars first became a national phenomenon. It seems like a long time ago now, and since then I have enjoyed these tasty, rich in protein cooked vegetables (or not) in a variety of ways. Chickpeas go by many names, including chick peas, beans and chick peas (in India) chana or channa. You can also see it written as one word, "beans".


And launch chick peas in salads, can be cooked in soups and stews; step on some together, shoot balls shortly and fry make falafel; Cook and they polished into a paste for some homemade hummus; or simply Grill a bread and sprinkle with salt or spices for a quick snack. This just scratches the surface of the ways that people can and enjoy chickpeas.


The minor in the kitchen with chickpeas annoyance is that night should, preferably soak, before moving on to use. You can avoid this by buying cans chickpeas, even if Miss you the full flavor fresh chickpeas.


Chick Pea recipe # 1


Ingredients


1 15 oz (or 1 can) chickpeas


2-4 cups of water


3. 2 tablespoons of cooking oil


4. (1) onion, chopped


5. 1 teaspoon salt


6 2 cloves garlic, minced


7. 2 teaspoons ground coriander


8. (1) red pepper, chopped green Chile


9. 1 tomato, diced


Addresses


1 Combine chickpeas, 3 cups of water and salt in a saucepan. Cook until the chickpeas are tender. Drain, elimination of chickpeas of bread.


2 Heat oil in the skillet. Add the onion and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia until onion begins to Brown, and then add the garlic, pepper and coriander; FRY for 5 minutes more.


3. Add the tomatoes. Continue cooking until that all liquid is gone.


4 Add chickpeas in pan and cook over low heat for 5 minutes. Add 1 cup water, cover and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.


5 Remove from heat, stir well and serve.


Chick Pea recipe # 2 (for some garlic lovers!)


Ingredients


1 2 cans chickpeas


2 6 to 12 cloves of chopped garlic


3. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds


4 1/4 cup chicken broth


5. 2 tablespoons of tomato, 6 tablespoons water


6. 3 or 4 redskin, peeled and chopped potatoes


7. 1 cup water


8. 1 teaspoon salt


9. 1 teaspoon lemon juice


10. 1 teaspoon of chili powder


Addresses


1. Seeds of cumin sautee and garlic broth for 3 minutes. Add pasta (diluted with water) tomato and cook for 2 minutes over simmering.


2. Add potatoes, chick peas, water, salt, chili powder and lemon juice. Boil for 25 to 30 minutes.


3 Serve with pita bread or crusty French or Italian bread.


Chick Pea recipe # 3 (soup)


Ingredients


1 4 cups pre-cooked chickpeas


2. 6 cups canned broth or chicken soup (clear)


3. (1) onion, chopped


4. 1 medium tomato, diced


5. 2 tablespoons of chopped parsley or parsley flakes


6 4 cloves of garlic, minced


7. 1 cup of dry macaroni


Addresses


1 Preheat a medium sized pot big. Saute the garlic and onion.


2. Add broth of chicken, chickpeas, tomatoes and parsley.


3 Bring everything to a boil; Cook for 15 to 25 minutes.


4 Add macaroni, cover pot and cook for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring often. Remove from heat and serve.
